TOM PETTY: DEAD AT 66

Tom Petty, one of the greatest musicians of rock music, passed away on Monday, since he suffered from a cardiac arrest, was hospitalized and finally was taken off life support. Petty went into full cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu Sunday night. He was found unconscious and not breathing, he had a pulse but when he arrived at hospital, he had no brain activity. The doctors decided to pull off life support. Another iconic rock star is dead. Our thoughts go to his family and friends.

Tom Petty, who left our world at the age of 66, became famous in the ’70s with his band, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. His solo albums in the ’80s and ’90s were a huge success. He was also a member of the supergroup The Traveling Wilburys.

Born on October 20, 1950, in Florida, Petty was a true rock legend (he was inducted into “The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” in 2002. His passionate singing and warm guitar playing, albums like “Full Moon Fever” and “Into the Great Wide Open” will never be forgotten.
